Popular leisure and relaxation options are a day spa, cabana-style pool area, plenty of swimming pools and outdoor Jacuzzies/hot tubs, live music and shows. Passengers choose between two assigned dinner seatings or open seating; breakfast and lunch are open seating. Alternative dinner options include the reservations-only Crown Grill and Sabatini’s Italian restaurants (both with cover). Crab Shack—adjacent to the Lido buffet—serves shellfish for an extra charge.

The Moroccan vegetable stew was seasoned well, mildly spiced but flavorful and cooked perfectly with the vegetables maintaining a suitable bite. However, it could have really used some rice, couscous, or quinoa. If you’ve ever dined with me on a cruise, you may wonder, slightly annoyed, why I take a photo of every single thing I eat. Because I look at them after returning home to lunches of home sprouted mung beans in an attempt to squeeze back into my fat pants before my next cruise. But if there’s one thing having a son in Kindergarten has taught me, lice are extremely contagious. Melbourne is known for its good shopping, so Golden Princess has upped the ante to improve the onboard experience for those savvy Melburnians.

Princess Cruises will offer its biggest-ever New Zealand season on vessels including Golden Princess (with its series of 13- night itineraries) and the new Majestic Princess. The line says it will release an enhanced Across the Ditch program of 'uniquely New Zealand experiences' that focus on food and cultural activities later this year. Its first roll-out of experiences included zip-lining and wine-tasting on Waiheke Island. If you're a fan of TV program The Voice, you can take to the stage in this singing competition at sea. Competitors sign up to compete in a series of karaoke nights where audience members vote for their favourite artist.

New Zealand: A North & South Island Adventure
The four pools, including a “swim-against-the-current” lap pool, are uniformly gorgeous, thanks in no small part to colorful mosaics and surrounding palm trees. Low marks, though, to whoever decided to put the separate jogging track right above the spa, as the relentless thundering of hooves overhead isn’t terribly conducive to one’s enjoying her massage or beauty treatment. Even though prices are substantially higher than ashore, spa services are very popular, especially in the afternoon. You’ll occasionally have to stand in line for some of the more popular workout apparatuses in the gym. There’s a golf simulator and 9-hole putting green, and courts for basketball, volleyball or tennis.

This impressive stateroom offers the added indulgence of a balcony and gives you more space than a standard stateroom. Enjoy your own private outdoor space with a table, two chairs, and a relaxing view of the inspiring scenery surrounding you, whether a beautiful sunset over the ocean or a new city to explore. The cruise director’s staff leads lively evenings of fun with passenger participation. Movies Under the Stars, where popcorn is free, is a popular evening option. Princess Cruises may be best known for introducing cruise travel to millions of viewers, when its flagship became the setting for The Love Boat television series in 1977. Since that heady time of small-screen stardom, the Princess fleet has grown both in the number and size of ships. Although most are large in scale, Princess vessels manage to create the illusion of intimacy through the use of color and decor in understated yet lovely public rooms graced by multimillion-dollar art collections. A charge of $10 per person per day (including children) is automatically added to your stateroom account for dining and stateroom personnel.
It’s located between the Trident grill and the pizzeria. It’s in a prime location to supply drink to the passengers around the pool and those taking part in deck parties. Despite its location, it was never too busy, we never had any trouble being served. A colossus of a ship, Golden Princess's massive 17-deck layout provides passengers with a variety of activity, dining, entertainment and relaxation options while also providing ample leg room for onboard exploration.
Golden Princess Australia cruise itineraries 2018-2019
In 2017, Carnival Corporation announced Golden Princess would be transferred from Princess to sister brand P&O Cruises Australia as a part of P&O's fleet renewal. She is currently in service as Pacific Adventure as of 2022, sailing itineraries around Oceania along with her sister ship Pacific Encounter (previously known as Star Princess). In 1998, Princess Cruises finalized the order for the ship (then known as the Golden Princess) in response to the strong demand for her sister ship, Grand Princess, making her the fleet's second Grand-class ship. She was built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri in Monfalcone, delivered in 2001, and christened by Merlisa George in Saint Thomas in April 2002. While operating as Golden Princess, she has sailed to all seven continents, beginning with her debut in Southampton in May 2001, followed by seasonal deployments serving regions around the Caribbean and Europe. In 2007, she circumnavigated South America and debuted along the West Coast of the United States before also sailing around ports in Asia and Oceania bordering the Pacific Ocean until 2020.

The ship now has the exclusive Byron Beach Club Cabanas offering a premium experience with features like shaded areas, dedicated beverage service, towel service, complimentary bottled water. Guests booking a cabana also receive a US$100 food credit. Each cabana has max capacity of 4 people and is equipped with a mini-bar fridge, TV, and fan. This one is at the aft of the ship and overlooks those gorgeous views out to sea.
Winning performers are then mentored by team coaches during rehearsal sessions, complete with those iconic, swivelling chairs. Team coaches may include the ship's guest entertainers, the hotel general manager and even the captain. There's plenty of drama leading up to the big finale when a finalist from each of the three teams is chosen to compete for the title of 'The Voice of the Ocean'. The cabin was really spacious and really well laid out.
If you want to grab a quick lunch, stop by for a hot, pressed to order panini, an assortment of cold salads, and some of the best desserts on the ship. For breakfast, the International Café offers a delicious assortment of pastries as well as a hot, pressed to order, breakfast sandwich and a few other rotating items. I recommend the almond croissant with your morning coffee before the buffet opens (I like to get an early start on eating). I ate it, and resentful at having to leave my bed to eat, dragged myself down to the International Café for this Oreo cheesecake and blueberry apricot rice pudding which were delicious but ruined my goal of under 100 steps for this sea day.
Because of illness I caught on the bus portion of my tour, I did not spend as much time enjoying all the shipboard amenities as I usually do. I did attend 2 of the Production Shows in the Princess Theatre. I enjoyed the comedian Ken Boyd in the Vista Lounge.
